Claude to prepare furniture listings for a move

Dan Healy and his wife had a little over a week to sell ten pieces of furniture before moving. They took photographs of the bed, futon, desk, chair, bookshelves and other items, then gave Claude Cowork access to the desktop photo folder and the intended prices.

How the agent did it

  1. Photograph the furniture and put all images in one folder with prices.
  2. Have Cowork group items, convert HEIC images and draft listings.
  3. Edit the titles, post the advertisements yourself and handle the sales.

Dan Healy and his wife had a little over a week to sell ten pieces of furniture before moving. They took photographs of the bed, futon, desk, chair, bookshelves and other items, then gave Claude Cowork access to the desktop photo folder and the intended prices.

Cowork grouped multiple photographs by item. It noticed that the fifteen images were in HEIC format, converted them to JPG and saved the converted versions in a new folder. It also produced ten listing titles and descriptions, an order for the photographs and suggestions intended to help the items sell quickly.

Healy still edited and published the listings. He removed the price from the titles, copied the descriptions into Facebook Marketplace, uploaded the JPGs and posted that night. The agent did not independently publish the ads, communicate with buyers or receive payments.

He reports that seven of the ten items sold within seventy-two hours and the remainder before the move. Listing preparation took about fifteen minutes in his account, against his estimate of one or two hours of manual work. The specific reusable step is giving the agent the entire photo folder so grouping, conversion and writing happen together, while the seller retains control of the final advertisements.
