Cursor simplifies an audio pipeline into a one-shot sandbox

Dodds delegated an audio pipeline migration to Cursor. He rejected an initial design that preserved a separate service and used another agent run to make the sandbox part of the existing queue Worker.

TRY A BOUNDED VERSION

Prompt to try

Editorial adaptation, not the source author’s exact prompt. Replace bracketed inputs and review tool permissions first.

Review [batch pipeline] and replace unnecessary service lifecycle coordination with a bounded job runner. Keep credentials in the orchestrator and use short-lived artifact URLs. Check success, failure, retries and cleanup. Provide a migration diff and rollback plan; stop before deployment.

What happened

Dodds reports merging the simpler pipeline with signed input/output URLs and cleanup in a finally block.

How the agent did it

  1. Inspect the container pipeline and attempt a migration to Cloudflare Sandboxes.
  2. Review the first implementation and reject unnecessary service coordination.
  3. Move orchestration to the queue Worker and run FFmpeg in a disposable sandbox.

Where a person stepped in

Dodds reviewed architecture, closed the first attempt and chose the design that kept R2 credentials in the Worker.

A person approved each step before the agent continued.

About this account

Cursor performed the migration and subsequent redesign rather than requiring manual edits for each component.

Firsthand account links abandoned and merged PRs. No blanket claim that sandboxed execution removes all operational risk.
