How the agent did it
- Define resume and job-description inputs.
- Build accounts, generation and saved data.
- Repair length and PDF-export failures.
Moe Lueker built two versions of a cover-letter application to compare an interview-style prompt with a detailed written specification. Both accepted a resume, job description and desired length and included accounts and saved data. He ran the builds side by side and published a version readers could try.
The interview approach asked questions before planning the screens and data. Lueker changed the suggested login provider to Replit's own authentication. The specification approach defined the flow, generation rules, account limits and design in advance. He reports that both builds were close after repairs.
Those repairs are the most useful part of the account. A test requesting a 325-word letter returned only 25 words. Lueker described that exact failure, and the agent corrected the generation. The other version needed PDF formatting repaired after an export appeared compressed into one font size. He disclosed that Replit sponsored the walkthrough. The resulting apps were working artifacts, with observed defects and subsequent fixes kept in the record.
